Discipleship
I’m saved, now what?

“This is to my father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples” John 15:8

In De los Hechos church we know the importance of encouraging the believer to develop a personal relationship with Christ through the study of God’s word to strengthen the growth of the local church.

We’ll show you briefly the importance it represents in each believer’s life and what it consists of.

1) It’s a mandate: God commands us to make disciples, it is clear to see it in Mathew 28:19-20

2) It was Jesus Christ’s strategy: Jesus worked with three of his twelve disciples in a special way; this is evident in the passages of Matthew 17:1 and Mark 6:7. Discipleship is based on being able to work individually and with a goal to reproduce like cells.

3) It was Paul’s strategy: “Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well” 1 Thessalonians 2:8. He had a special relationship with his disciples.

4) It has to be ours: it has to be our desire to work in other people’s lives. Ephesians 5:1 “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children”

What is important in a discipleship is being able to transmit a life of compromise, purpose and service, in addition to being a testimony: The desire of every believer is to reflect the nature of God in our lives.
